Ronnie Dampier is a champion of change and innovation with experience that ranges from the front lines of hospitality management to the executive level in public service.
As the Assistant Secretary for Business Enterprise Administration (BEA), Ronnie oversees enterprise information technology, a $3 billion capital grants and loans program, statewide inventory and surplus property, fleet management, fuel management, and mail courier services.
Before joining the Maryland Department of General Services, Ronnie most recently served as Chief of Staff with the Harris County Government in Houston, Texas. He also served as Chief of Staff at the District of Columbia Department of Transportation and, most notably, as the inaugural Chief of Staff at the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Operations and Infrastructure, an office created by Mayor Muriel Bowser in January 2019.
As a proven, results-driven leaders, he's led a diverse workforce across multiple workstreams, including communications and external affairs, policy, equity and inclusion, operations, finance, project delivery, information technology, administration, performance management, and human resources. Through data-driven strategies and efficient management of multimillion-dollar operating and capital funding budgets, Ronnie has been instrumental in delivering equitable transportation programs, implementing performance management programs, improving policies, and optimizing transparency.
He holds a Master of Science in Project Management from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from Tuskegee University. Ronnie is involved in multiple organizations and consistently looks to exand his network.
