The Office of Human Resources supports the Department of General Services by providing guidance and oversight in the following areas:


Employment Services - Offers a comprehensive range of personnel services to employees and provides information and assistance to the public regarding job opportunities within the Department of General Services.

Talent Acquisition and Compensation - Delivers recruitment services to attract and identify talented candidates for the DGS team, ensuring they are well-suited to serve the State of Maryland.

Employee Labor Relations - Addresses work disputes, grievance resolution, and disciplinary issues within DGS, and guides supervisors and managers on leave issues, performance evaluation, and collective bargaining/MOUs.

Health Benefits and Leave Management - Supports employees with the enrollment and ongoing management of health and leave benefits, ensuring they have access to and understanding of their coverage options.


Organization and Employee Development -  Provides professional development opportunities to enhance employees' skills and knowledge, supporting their current roles and preparing them for future career advancement.​
